Sugar Packets
03:08
|
|||
shes got
champagne in smoking jackets
cocaine in sugar packets
all the little things
that let you know you've found your racket
and you can hack it
she's a lamb in leopard’s clothing
a young soul in the thrall of old things
she loves her pad with the lampshades from
her beat new england dad
and zebra moulding
empty shots of half and half
every day
she’s living in sugar packets
and enjoying her stay
waits for the train while magazining
she's not mean she's just not well-meaning
she laid out the ad for
that program for those kids who have it bad
on which she's leaning
she's got a job for the rent she's paying
she's not a snob it's just a game she's playing
she looks good with
the gang of wags
she drags around the hood
the ones she's slaying
(slay me, babe)
an exhibition in Paris France
she’s hanging with the boys in skin-tight pants
taking hipstamatic pictures of
their faces with an arms out stance
I'd like to say I watched her from afar
I wish that I had wished upon a star
but I was back across the pond
reading all her emails at the bar
yeah I was reading them on my smartphone
empty shots of half and half
every day
she’s living in sugar packets
and enjoying her stay

Judy's Drunk
04:50
|
|||
now the air outside's gone cold
now the foxes have found their hens
I hear boleros on some far-off Honda stereo
and it looks like Judy's drunk again..
keep your nights all moving slow
your life is never gonna end
just leave your knife home
when you're walking through the barrio
and don't romanticize your friends
it looks like Judy's drunk again
the last idea has been sold
it's got another twenty for all our sins
Joe's off crying about FM radio dying
and it looks like Judy's drunk again
if you keep your lifetime moving slow
your nights are never gonna end
maintain denial
of your own worst-case scenario
and always know how much to spend
it looks like Judy's drunk again
when was the last time that you had no place to go?
